Description
The Gerda Henkel Foundation’s PhD Scholarships are designed to support promising early-career researchers pursuing doctoral studies in the historical humanities. This includes disciplines such as Archaeology, History, Historical Islamic Studies, Art History, History of Law, Prehistory and Early History, and History of Science. Projects from neighboring disciplines may be considered if their core research question is historically oriented. The scholarship enables recipients to focus on their doctoral research and professional development, with funding for up to two years and a possible one-year extension. Additional allowances for family, travel, and research materials are available. Applications are open to candidates of any nationality and location.
