Due Dates: February 3, 2027 (MyPhortify application deadline) | February 4, 2027 (EU Funding & Tenders Portal deadline)

Funding Amounts: €500–€2,000 lump-sum grants; €18,200 total available; amounts not linked to duration

Summary: Supports students and doctoral candidates attending selected short-term photonics and digital-technology learning and training events.

Key Information: Applicants must remain students during the mobility; non-student university staff are ineligible.

    Description

Phortify Mobility Grants support short-term learning and training activities in photonics and related digital technologies, including selected workshops, summer schools, conferences and other events. Activities must contribute to students’ academic and professional development and take place under the responsibility of Phortify partner institutions. Grants contribute to travel, accommodation, subsistence and, where applicable, registration or participation fees.

The pilot call is administered and paid directly by Phortify, a European Commission-funded project working to enhance and harmonise photonics education across Europe. Its wider funding framework seeks to broaden participation and build a more inclusive photonics community, particularly for people traditionally underrepresented in STEM. This is cascade funding: Phortify launches the call and awards support in its own name and under its own responsibility, rather than as a direct EU action.
