Summary: Supports innovative, hypothesis-driven basic science research to advance understanding and treatment of cystic fibrosis.
This program supports pilot and feasibility research projects that develop and test new hypotheses in areas relevant to cystic fibrosis (CF). The aim is to foster innovative basic science and help promising new investigators establish themselves in CF research. Projects should be hypothesis-driven, address critical questions in CF, and ideally generate preliminary data to support future funding applications to agencies such as the NIH. Priority is given to studies that advance understanding of disease mechanisms or develop new strategies to prevent or treat CF.
