Description
UCSF’s Young-Onset Colorectal Cancer Program supports pilot projects addressing colorectal cancer diagnosed in people younger than 50. The award seeks research that advances understanding of the disease and improves prevention, diagnosis, clinical care, survivorship, and equitable outcomes.
Basic, translational, clinical, population, implementation, and health services research are within scope. Priorities include disease biology; risk factors; early detection; precision medicine and new treatments; fertility, sexual health, and quality of life; supportive and psychosocial care; and strategies to reduce disparities and diagnostic delays.
