Description
SIR Foundation’s Pilot Research Grant supports research in areas important to the advancement of interventional radiology and patient care. Projects typically test a new idea or establish a new research direction, addressing a specific hypothesis and generating preliminary data to justify or strengthen subsequent comprehensive applications to national peer-reviewed funding agencies.
The program supports initial investigations by faculty, research by faculty with limited research experience, and experienced faculty pursuing a truly novel idea. It aims to advance scientific knowledge, increase the number of skilled investigators, and develop innovative therapies that improve patient care and quality of life. SIR and SIR Foundation also emphasize inclusion and strengthening the specialty through different perspectives.
