Description
The AASLD Foundation’s Pinnacle Research Award in Liver Diseases is a three-year, project-based basic science award for early-career scientists transitioning from completed research training to independent research careers. It supports research across all aspects of liver physiology and disease, with the goal of preparing investigators to compete successfully for national research awards, particularly from the National Institutes of Health.
Well-trained investigators holding MD, PhD, or MD/PhD degrees and pursuing careers in liver disease research are encouraged to apply. The award emphasizes scientific merit, commitment to a sustained research career, and a supportive research environment. For the 2027 cycle, additional dedicated funding is available for autoimmune hepatitis research, and applications in this area are encouraged.
