Description
The Pioneer Funding Track is administered by the United States–Israel Binational Agricultural Research and Development Fund (BARD). It supports mission-oriented agricultural research that introduces new directions, concepts, or solutions and produces significant, tangible results. Projects must offer practical benefits to both countries and clearly explain the potential for follow-up development. The track funds three-year research projects and one-year feasibility studies establishing a foundation for further research or preliminary results for particularly innovative ideas.
The program covers agricultural engineering, animal health and production, aquaculture, crop health and production, soil and water resources, renewable resources, food products, and agricultural economics. Selection emphasizes innovation, scientific merit, agricultural impact, and multidisciplinary collaboration. The Pioneer vision also emphasizes integrated approaches and practical outputs with potential for implementation within approximately five years.
