Description
The Pittcon Elementary/Middle School Science Equipment Grant, administered by the Society for Analytical Chemists of Pittsburgh (SACP), supplies equipment and materials for science teaching in grades K–8. It is open to teachers at schools in eight states, including teachers who teach science without holding an official science-teacher designation. Support normally takes the form of items purchased by SACP and shipped directly to the school, rather than cash.
The program focuses on how requested items will be used and the benefits they will provide to students. Applications should explain the number of students who will benefit, any innovative uses, and opportunities for other teachers in the school or district to share the items. Student safety is an explicit priority.
