Description
The South Carolina State Library administers Planning Grants through its Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA) program. The grants support South Carolina public libraries in assessing community needs, developing strategic plans, or conducting preparatory research and planning for a future library project. The purpose is to give libraries a clearer foundation for later work and improve the likelihood of successful outcomes.
Funding can pay for professional research or consultation, or for contract or temporary staff who free full-time library staff to conduct planning. The project must produce a document or presentation establishing a foundation for implementation, or a report explaining why the proposed project is not feasible.
