    Description

The American Society of Plant Biologists (ASPB) offers Plant BLOOME Awards to support education and outreach that enhances public awareness and understanding of plants’ essential roles in all areas of life. Established in 1995, the Plant Biology Learning Objectives, Outreach Materials & Education Grant program provides limited fellowship support for members’ educational work.

The 2026 cycle focuses on developing and disseminating classroom activities that advance student and teacher knowledge and appreciation of plant biology. Activities may serve K–12 classrooms or first-year undergraduate courses, with preference given to K–12 students. Materials should be readily distributable to educators online, at conferences, or through outreach events, without requiring highly specialized equipment or technical expertise. Funded projects are featured on ASPB’s website and disseminated to teachers at national meetings and outreach events.
