Key Information: Only the host institution can submit applications to the Foundation.

    Description

The Neurological Foundation’s Platform Grants support the expansion of well-established platforms based in New Zealand with national and international relevance. Platforms must provide nationwide access to resources enabling research into neurological conditions and be ready to progress to the next level. The programme aims to help platforms become sustainable over the long term without further Foundation funding.

The grants combine research infrastructure development with education, collaboration and capacity building. Priorities include leadership involving early- and mid-career researchers or clinicians, succession planning, strong governance, and business planning that considers service fees and partnerships. Platforms should involve students, trainees, teaching, or engagement with patients and community groups. Partnership with Māori is integral, including consultation or participation, alignment with Māori research principles and ethics, and significance to Māori health.
