Description
Ploughshares Fund supports organizations, individuals, and coalitions working to reduce nuclear threats. Its grantmaking follows a field-building strategy: sustaining organizations that prevent nuclear war, expanding the field’s capacity and constituency, advancing near-term policy goals, and testing ideas that could renew the nuclear threat reduction field. Support can include direct and grassroots lobbying, while film, video, and art production are considered case by case.
Alongside regular funding cycles, staff can make discretionary grants between board meetings for urgent projects aligned with the funder’s highest priorities. Ploughshares also seeks to foster a more diverse, equitable, inclusive, and accessible nuclear field, and encourages women and people from diverse communities to apply.
