Description
The PMI Sponsored Research Program supports academic research projects that contribute to the advancement of knowledge and practice in project, program, and portfolio management. Since the late 1990s, this program has served as a core mechanism for the Project Management Institute (PMI) to foster scholarly inquiry and practical improvements in the discipline. Funded projects are expected to produce outputs such as practitioner summaries, white papers, peer-reviewed publications (notably in the Project Management Journal®), and conference presentations. The program operates within PMI’s broader academic ecosystem, which also includes the Academic Network and additional research initiatives.
