--- ## Description The Pomerance Award for Scientific Contributions to Archaeology, presented by the Archaeological Institute of America (AIA), honors individuals or teams whose interdisciplinary scientific work has significantly advanced the field of archaeology. The award recognizes impactful research that addresses major archaeological questions, fosters collaborations across disciplines, and demonstrates global or multi-regional impact. Recipients are celebrated for innovative scientific approaches, methodological breakthroughs, extensive scholarly publications, and commitment to training future researchers and engaging the public.
