Description
The Port Community Fund, managed by Suffolk Community Foundation, supports grassroots charitable and community organisations responding to the needs of people who live and work in Felixstowe and The Trimleys, and areas of deprivation in Ipswich and Woodbridge. It funds both core costs and project costs for local community issues and initiatives addressing priority needs.
Founded in 2008 by local shipping and transport businesses, the fund pools charitable contributions to provide greater support for local causes and build closer community relationships. Its priorities are local solutions to local needs, community cohesion, sustainable and supportive communities, tackling disadvantage, and promoting health and wellbeing. The overall aim is to improve the quality of people’s lives.
