Description
The Portfolio Awards are presented annually to the top illustration portfolios submitted to the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI) Summer or Winter Conference. This juried Portfolio Showcase is a unique opportunity for children’s book illustrators to present their work to leading publishing professionals. Portfolios are judged holistically, with an emphasis on suitability for the children’s book market, consistency of artistic voice, and originality of style.
Winners receive a range of professional development opportunities, including SCBWI membership renewal, portfolio reviews with art directors or agents, free conference admission (Gold Award), and the chance to have their work featured at the Bologna Children’s Book Fair. The awards are designed to help illustrators launch or further their careers in children’s publishing.
