Description
CERN’s Post-Career Break Fellowship helps scientists and engineers return to professional practice after interrupting their careers for personal reasons. Fellows reconnect with their expertise, contribute to innovative projects, and relaunch their careers in a supportive, international environment. Project work is complemented by on-the-job and formal training, including language classes.
Opportunities span applied, experimental and theoretical physics, engineering, information technologies, data science, and technology transfer. Work can include developing particle detectors, accelerator systems and experimental facilities, designing electrical systems and precision electronics, analysing experimental data, and building software for particle beams and accelerator controls. The programme also presents opportunities to translate CERN’s technologies into applications beyond particle physics.
