    Description

The Institute for Advanced Study (IAS) School of Mathematics offers joint postdoctoral positions in collaboration with leading partner institutions, notably DIMACS at Rutgers University and the Princeton University Department of Mathematics. These roles are designed for early-career scholars in mathematics and theoretical computer science, integrating a period of dedicated research at IAS with additional research and, in some cases, teaching responsibilities at the partner institution. The main joint appointments are:

    • IAS–DIMACS/Rutgers: Two-year postdoctoral roles focused on computer science and discrete mathematics.
    • IAS–Princeton (Veblen Research Instructorship): Three-year positions in all areas of mathematics, with two years at Princeton (teaching and research) and one year at IAS (full-time research).
    • IAS–Princeton (Bourgain Fellowship): Four-year positions (for select Veblen candidates) with two years at Princeton (no teaching) and two years at IAS.

During the IAS term, scholars have access to on-campus housing, a vibrant research community, and extensive resources, allowing them to focus exclusively on their research.
