Description
The Institute for Advanced Study (IAS) School of Mathematics offers joint postdoctoral positions in partnership with leading institutions such as DIMACS at Rutgers University and the Princeton University Department of Mathematics. These positions are intended for early-career scholars in mathematics and theoretical computer science, providing a unique opportunity to conduct high-level research at IAS combined with additional research and, in some cases, teaching responsibilities at the partner institution.
The main joint appointments include:
- IAS–DIMACS/Rutgers: Two-year postdoctoral roles focused on computer science and discrete mathematics.
- IAS–Princeton (Veblen Research Instructorship): Three-year positions in all areas of mathematics, with two years at Princeton (teaching and research) and one year at IAS (full-time research).
- IAS–Princeton (Bourgain Fellowship): Four-year positions (for select Veblen candidates) with two years at Princeton (no teaching) and two years at IAS.
