Projects should advance one or more TRDRP research priorities, with highly innovative work and clear potential for impact central to the award. The research must be the applicant’s own project, building on prior experience while developing their capacity for independent scientific work in tobacco-related disease research.
The award integrates research with individualized professional development. Applicants and their primary research advisors establish shared goals through an Individual Development Plan and a distinct, tailored Training Plan. Additional mentors may contribute to research and training. Support includes a stipend and an institutional allowance for research expenses, educational activities, insurance, and project-related travel.
