Description
The Friedreich’s Ataxia Research Alliance (FARA) Postdoctoral Fellowship supports young investigators in the Friedreich’s ataxia (FA) biomedical research field. It sits within FARA’s competitive research program spanning basic research, drug development, and clinical research, with the goal of advancing therapeutic development and building the next generation of FA scientists. Fellowship funding supports the trainee’s compensation rather than other project costs.
The fellowship connects proposed research with the investigator’s career goals and future plans in FA research. Applicants must explain how their research and training environment will support those goals and develop a mentoring plan jointly with their mentors. Research must address at least one FARA priority: neuroscience/systems, cardiac disease, the molecular basis of FA, drug discovery, translational research and drug development, or clinical research.
