Description
The Institute for Advanced Studies in the Humanities (IASH) at the University of Edinburgh supports independent postdoctoral research across the arts, humanities and social sciences. The fellowship provides time for sustained thinking, reading and writing within an international scholarly community. Innovative and interdisciplinary approaches are encouraged, with particular emphasis on project quality, timeliness and relevance to Edinburgh’s research community.
Fellows receive dedicated office space, University email and library access, and mentoring from a scholar with relevant expertise. Work-in-progress seminars provide opportunities to test ideas, while weekly lunches, Institute events and funded workshops foster exchange with other visiting fellows and established researchers. The programme welcomes applicants from within and beyond Edinburgh, including independent researchers.
