The American Cancer Society’s Postdoctoral Fellowships support research training and mentoring for new investigators pursuing independent careers in cancer research. The fellowships are intended to broaden applicants’ research training and experience, with support for scientists studying cancer across basic, translational, clinical, and cancer control research.
The program is managed by the Society’s Extramural Discovery Science team through its Career Growth and Research Excellence program office. Research topics may span the cancer research continuum, including work to prevent, detect, treat, and survive cancer. ACS places special emphasis on actionable research addressing health equity. Fellowship support includes progressive annual stipends, an annual fellowship allowance, and a travel allowance in the final year.
