These postdoctoral fellowships, including the A. W. Mellon and Beinecke Postdoctoral Fellowships, are prestigious two-year residential appointments at the Center for Advanced Study in the Visual Arts (CASVA) at the National Gallery of Art in Washington, DC. Fellows focus on advancing their research and writing for publication, design and lead an intensive seminar for predoctoral fellows in their first year, and teach a course at a neighboring university in their second year.
