Description
Breakthrough T1D’s Postdoctoral Fellowships attract promising scientists entering the type 1 diabetes (T1D) research field. Fellows work with a sponsor in a structured training environment that supports their development toward independent investigation. Each applicant must propose a substantive, T1D-relevant research question suitable for a three-year training period, alongside career-development and sponsor-written training plans.
The program considers research relevant to the cause, cure, treatment, or prevention of diabetes and its complications. Alignment with Breakthrough T1D’s research strategy is encouraged, and projects addressing its priority areas receive priority consideration, though alignment is not required. Human-subject research on diabetic eye, kidney, and cardiovascular disease covered by the strategy is eligible, including interventional or observational trials and analysis of clinical biosamples or data.
