Description
The Gerda Henkel Foundation supports postdoctoral fellowships at two Institutes for Advanced Study: New Europe College in Bucharest, Romania, and the Centre for Advanced Study Sofia in Bulgaria. The partnership promotes international research collaboration through institutes dedicated to the humanities and social sciences.
Founded in 1994, New Europe College enables Romanian and international researchers to concentrate on projects of their own choosing while benefiting from debate and networking with peers. The Centre for Advanced Study Sofia, established in 2000, appoints fellows from Bulgaria and abroad and participates in major international research projects. Both institutes provide settings for intellectual exchange and the development of young scholars.
