Description
The Library Company of Philadelphia offers long-term postdoctoral fellowships to support advanced research in residence, utilizing the extensive collections of both the Library Company and the Historical Society of Pennsylvania. These fellowships are designed to foster scholarly work in two main areas:
- African American history (17th–19th centuries) through the Program in African American History (PAAH) Mellon Scholars Postdoctoral Research Fellowship.
- Early American economy (up to ~1850) via the Program in Early American Economy and Society (PEAES) Postdoctoral Fellowship.
Fellows are expected to reside in the Philadelphia area for the duration of their fellowship and engage deeply with the collections.
