This program provides individual postdoctoral fellowships to outstanding early-career scientists pursuing innovative research in plant science, agriculture, and food biotechnology. The aim is to enable promising researchers to develop independent research agendas at universities or non-profit research institutions in Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, or Sweden. Projects must focus on major challenges related to sustainable agriculture and food production, with a strong emphasis on fundamental research, technological innovation, and advancing knowledge beyond current boundaries. Priority is given to research that improves plant productivity and resilience, leverages microorganisms for sustainability, develops advanced agricultural and food systems, or creates sustainable ingredients through biotechnology. High-risk, high-reward proposals are encouraged.
