These fellowships are designed to support outstanding postdoctoral researchers conducting fundamental and strategic research in plant science, agriculture, and food biotechnology. The goal is to address major challenges in developing sustainable agriculture and food production, with projects expected to extend knowledge beyond the current state-of-the-art. Research may be high-risk and should be rooted in life science disciplines, focusing on technological advances that improve sustainability, productivity, biodiversity, and resource-use efficiency. Priority topics include resilient and productive plants, sustainable use of microorganisms, advanced agricultural and food systems, new sustainable ingredients, and innovative methods or technologies supporting sustainable agriculture and food production.
