Description
The Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) offers fellowships enabling researchers from abroad to work with leading research groups at Japanese universities and other research institutions. Research takes place under the guidance of a Japanese host, with cooperation and international research relationships central to the program. All fields of the humanities, social sciences, and natural sciences are covered.
The program offers routes for different career stages and regions: the Summer Program, Short-term Programs PE and PA, and the postdoctoral Standard Program. Summer combines research with an orientation on Japanese culture and Japanese language lessons. Standard supports longer collaborative research stays and selects fellows through open calls involving Japanese institutions or recommendations from overseas nominating authorities.
