    Description

The Fisheries Society of the British Isles (FSBI) runs the Postdoctoral International Travelling Fellowship to support outstanding postdoctoral scientists conducting research aligned with its objectives in fish biology and fisheries. The scheme facilitates international mobility and access to the expertise or facilities of a chosen host, while demonstrating benefits to the fellow’s career development.

Supported activities include independent experimental studies, methodology development or validation, fieldwork, and similar work within an existing research programme. Projects must be coherent enough to generate explicit, quantifiable outputs. FSBI normally supports two fellows each calendar year: one incoming and one outgoing. Featured research spans reef fish ecology, fish pathogens, social behaviour and neural circuits, coral restoration, thermal physiology, fisheries bycatch, and collective behaviour.
