Description
The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation supports postdoctoral research training for MDs, PhDs, and MD/PhDs conducting basic research related to cystic fibrosis (CF). The fellowship enables training in new research areas and methods, development of scientific knowledge, and collection of data supporting a transition to an independent research career. Projects should improve understanding of disease pathogenesis or advance novel treatment approaches.
Relevant work includes airway defense defects, microbial adaptation to the CF lung, mucociliary clearance, airway hydration, and extrapulmonary manifestations. The Foundation prioritizes disease mechanisms and manifestations not completely corrected by CFTR modulators. Preference is given to recent graduates, researchers beginning their careers, and applicants demonstrating a clear, long-term commitment to CF research.
