Description
The Israel Institute’s Postdoctoral Teaching Fellowship supports multi-year academic exchange by placing Israeli scholars at leading American universities. The selective, three-year program is intended for scholars seeking full-time academic positions that combine undergraduate teaching about Israel with public or academic engagement. Placements in this cycle begin in Academic Year 2028–2029.
Fellows may teach in any discipline, provided their Israel-focused courses meet the program’s content requirements. The fellowship emphasizes sustained, in-person instruction rather than graduate, online, summer, or intensive courses. Beyond classroom teaching, fellows speak about Israel at events outside the classroom. These university placements also offer opportunities to build relationships with other scholars and develop professional networks for future collaboration.
