Description
The Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute (CHCI) Postgraduate Fellowship Program offers emerging Latino leaders and individuals deeply committed to the Latino community nine months of public policy experience in Washington, D.C. Fellows connect their graduate training with legislative work, spending four days each week at a placement and one full day with their cohort for leadership development. Concentrations include child welfare, health, housing, education, law, technology, and transportation.
The program combines policy analysis, community service, networking, and culturally relevant leadership development. Its four leadership pillars are Self Discovery, Transformation through Collective Power, Rooted in my Strength, and Planting Seeds for Tomorrow. Fellows research and publish an issue brief and organize a Capitol Hill briefing on a topic affecting the Latino community, while refining their career goals and policy interests.
