Postgraduate Students Conference/Seminar Grants support Hong Kong postgraduate students with visiting-speaker costs for events that foster exchanges across universities, disciplines and with overseas scholars.

Funding Amounts: Up to HK$50,000 per application for non-local guest speakers’ travel, accommodation and subsistence

Description
The Hong Kong Research Grants Council’s Postgraduate Students Conference/Seminar Grants support locally held events targeted at postgraduate students of University Grants Committee (UGC)-funded universities. The scheme promotes inter-institutional and interdisciplinary contacts and gives students opportunities to meet and interact with eminent scholars from outside Hong Kong.
Funding supports the costs of bringing non-local guest speakers to attend and speak at these conferences and seminars. Student involvement is central: postgraduate students should help plan and organize the event, rather than participate only as attendees. Supported events must be non-profit making and open to all postgraduate students in the UGC-funded sector.
