--- ## Description This prestigious award, presented by the American Brain Foundation in partnership with the American Academy of Neurology (AAN) and supported by the Potamkin Family, honors individuals who have made significant scientific advances in the understanding, prevention, treatment, and cure of Pick's disease, Alzheimer's disease, and related neurodegenerative disorders. The recipient is expected to deliver a 20-minute lecture at the AAN Annual Meeting, and the award celebrates achievements that have advanced the field and inspired future research. --- ## Due Dates - October 2026 (application deadline, anticipated/projected) *All dates are projected based on the annual cycle; check the program page for updates.* --- ## Funding Amount - $100,000 cash prize - Medallion - Complimentary registration for the AAN Annual Meeting --- ## Eligibility - Open to individuals from the following biological disciplines: neurology, neuropathology, biochemistry, molecular biology, molecular genetics, chemistry, pharmacology, immunology, physiology, or cell biology. - Applicants do **not** need to be AAN members. - Industry employees are **not** eligible. - Both self-nominations and nominations by others are accepted. --- ## Application Process Applicants (or nominators) must submit: - Completed application form - Current curriculum vitae (CV) - Letter from the applicant detailing scientific accomplishments - Two recommendation letters - Up to six selected reprints **Nominations:** Nominators must complete the application form and select the "I wish to nominate someone" option.
