PowerBoost is a European Commission-funded support stream run by GreenGrid, the Eurocluster for Renewable Energy Growth. It funds innovation audits that help SMEs assess their innovation readiness and strategic potential in the energy transition. Audits examine current processes, technologies, and operational gaps to identify where innovation or new technology adoption could improve efficiency, grid flexibility, sustainability, digitalisation, or integration with renewable energy systems.
The program supports assessing needs and defining priorities, rather than implementing solutions. Each audit must produce a Challenge Description Report using GreenGrid’s official template. This report defines challenges that could be addressed through the separate Solution Box calls for piloting or validating solutions. Completing the report is a prerequisite for those calls, but does not guarantee subsequent funding.
