Description
The Foundation for SMFM’s PQF Legacy Award supports multidisciplinary team projects that evaluate or improve obstetric care quality or patient safety at the patient-care level. Supported areas include maternal complications, fetal medicine, antepartum, intrapartum and postpartum care, obstetric ultrasound, and reproductive genetics. Projects in other areas of obstetric quality and safety may also be considered.
The award extends the legacy of the former Perinatal Quality Foundation through its gift to the Foundation for SMFM. Its interests include closing gaps between existing evidence and clinical practice, reducing disparities or inequities in care or outcomes, and introducing innovations into practice. These examples are not exhaustive. The program continues PQF’s emphasis on education, evidence-based quality initiatives, practice monitoring, and integrating emerging technologies into clinical care.
