The Prairie Disciple Award honors an arts supporter or advocate for their substantial and long-term contributions to the arts community in the Southwest Minnesota region. Presented annually by the Southwest Minnesota Arts Council (with support from the McKnight Foundation), the award highlights individuals who have demonstrated a deep commitment to supporting and advancing the arts. Every other year, special emphasis is placed on arts educators, but in 2027, nominations are open to all types of arts supporters. The award aims to recognize those whose advocacy and dedication have made a significant impact on the region’s cultural landscape.
