    Description

The Predator Control Grant is administered by the Utah Department of Agriculture and Food within Utah’s Grazing Improvement Program (GIP). It focuses on predator control for livestock producers who have suffered predation losses. GIP serves producers operating in Utah who graze cattle, sheep, goats, or horses, and supports improved rangeland management and sustainability.

Established in 2006 by the Rangeland Improvement Act (HB145), GIP provides cost-share grants and works within a framework of State and Regional Grazing Advisory Boards intended to strengthen producers’ voices. The broader program supports projects such as water developments, fencing, and vegetation treatments. Those examples describe general GIP work rather than specifically identified Predator Control Grant activities.
