Description
The New Jersey Department of Health funds prehospital care that connects an emergency response to continued treatment for opioid use disorder. The program supports emergency assessment, initiation of Medications for Opioid Use Disorder (MOUD), and follow-up or interim treatment by New Jersey State-licensed Mobile Intensive Care providers. It also facilitates referrals to substance use disorder care and resources through the department’s Electronic Rapid Referral Platform.
The program has two funding categories. Category A is for New Jersey State-licensed Mobile Intensive Care providers. Category B is for applicants with an approved Mobile Integrated Health program or those who initiate an application for approval within the specified post-award period.
