Description
The Lincoln Institute of Land Policy invites journalists across Latin America to enter investigative and explanatory reporting on land policy and sustainable urban development. The prize aims to bring public attention to how decisions about land, planning, and environmental issues affect communities. Now in its fifth year, it honors the memory of Tim Lopes, a Brazilian journalist killed while investigating a story about Rio de Janeiro’s favelas.
Entries must address at least one of the institute’s three areas of impact: land and water, land and communities, or land and fiscal systems. Reporting may examine subjects such as housing, informal settlements, urban planning, land markets, or climate change.
