Description
Cancer Research UK’s Prevention and Population Project Award supports focused, high-quality research addressing key questions in cancer primary prevention and population research. Proposals must articulate a cancer-related question and a clear line of sight to clinical or population impact, with relevance to the prevention research strategy where applicable. Scientists, clinicians and healthcare workers across career stages can apply.
Supported work includes epidemiology of cancer risk and aetiology, changes in incidence and survival, methodological and statistical research, and population-level studies of secondary physical effects of treatment. Other areas include risk stratification, chemoprevention trials, behavioural and lifestyle interventions, screening studies and policy research, including tobacco control. The Prevention and Population Research Committee makes funding decisions with expert and patient/public review support.
