Description
The Minnesota Department of Health’s Office of Rural Health and Primary Care administers this program to expand primary care residency training in Minnesota. Grants support the establishment of new programs or the training of eligible residents in newly created positions within existing programs.
The program aims to address shortages of primary care physicians and increase access to care in rural and underserved communities. Eligible training specialties are family medicine, general internal medicine, general pediatrics, psychiatry (including child psychiatry fellowships), geriatrics, and general surgery.
