This program funds the creation and expansion of community gardens in Prince George’s County, Maryland, with a focus on regenerative agriculture, sustainable gardening, and community engagement. Projects should contribute to the goals of the Prince George’s County Climate Action Plan, increase local food security, and foster neighborhood resilience. Both new gardens and expansions of existing gardens are eligible, provided they incorporate regenerative and sustainable practices.
Community gardens supported by this grant must be accessible to the local community, promote education and outreach, and demonstrate long-term value and sustainability. Preferred projects include those that increase access to healthy food, convert turf or impervious surfaces to productive gardens, and engage underrepresented or food-insecure communities.
