--- ## Description The scholarship honors Priscilla Carney Jones by supporting female undergraduate students majoring in chemistry or related disciplines as they begin their junior or senior years. The award is intended to ease financial barriers for students who demonstrate both academic excellence and financial need. Funds are sent directly to the recipient’s financial aid office and may be used for tuition, books, and lab fees, but not for housing, transportation, or personal expenses. --- ## Due Dates - May 1, 2026: Full application deadline — all application materials, including the academic/research advisor reference form with letter, must be received by 11:30 p.m. ET. --- ## Funding Amount - The scholarship is a **one-time award**. - Minimum award amount: **$1,500**. - Actual award may be higher depending on available funding. - Funds are paid directly to the recipient’s financial aid office and may be used for tuition, books, and lab fees only. --- ## Eligibility To be considered, applicants must: - Identify as female (inclusive of cis and trans women and persons assigned female at birth). - Be a rising junior or senior undergraduate student. - Be enrolled full-time at an accredited U.S. college or university. - Major in chemistry or a chemistry-related science. - Have completed or plan to conduct research during undergraduate years. - Hold a minimum overall GPA of 3.25. - Be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident. - Demonstrate financial need (unmet need = tuition, academic fees, books minus family contribution and other aid). - **Note:** Students in pre-med programs intending to go to medical school are not eligible. --- ## Application Process Applicants must submit the following via the [online application portal](https://fs7.formsite.com/vatz5F/PCJScholarship/index): - Applicant statement (max 500 words) explaining candidacy. - Community service and leadership statements (list form). - List of research presentations/publications. - Research summary (max 250 words) describing research or planned research and role. - Future goals statement (max 250 words). - Resume or CV (PDF). - Recent award letter from institution detailing costs and financial aid. - Estimated unmet financial need for the upcoming academic year. - Advisor reference form and letter of recommendation (submitted by academic/research advisor via [this form](https://fs7.formsite.com/vatz5F/ReferenceForm/index)), due by the application deadline.
