Description
This Horizon Europe Innovation Action funds projects that develop and demonstrate next-generation manufacturing technologies for solar photovoltaic (PV) cells and modules that surpass current commercial standards in efficiency, reliability, and performance. The call seeks to accelerate the commercialization and scaling of innovative PV technologies, reinforce the European solar manufacturing sector, and contribute to the EU's energy and industrial strategies, including the REPowerEU plan and the EU Solar PV Industry Alliance.
Projects should focus on:
- Demonstrating solar cells/modules with conversion efficiencies beyond those commercially available, with reliability and performance at least on par with the current best-in-class.
- Developing multi-megawatt-ready, resilient, energy-efficient, defect-free production technologies for cells/modules.
- Advancing production equipment and pilot lines, including digitalized and automated processing.
Successful proposals must include robust plans for exploitation, dissemination, scalability, commercialization, and deployment, and will be expected to report results to the European Partnership for Innovation in Photovoltaics (EUPI-PV).
