Description
The Professional Development Assistance (PDA) Program, administered by the Iowa Department of Natural Resources through the Solid Waste Alternatives Program (SWAP), provides small financial awards to support professional development and educational opportunities in Iowa. The program focuses on minimizing solid waste generation and increasing landfill diversion by funding activities such as technical assistance, public awareness campaigns, continuing education, workshops, conferences, and the development and distribution of educational materials. The PDA program is intended for solid waste professionals, educators, and others directly responsible for waste reduction, reuse, recycling, and solid waste minimization in Iowa.
