The Professional Development Award provides reimbursement funding to support librarians and staff at SCELC member libraries in pursuing a variety of professional development activities. Eligible activities include online conferences, webinars, continuing education courses, professional certifications, and similar learning opportunities. The award is intended to foster the growth and skill development of individual library professionals, benefiting both the recipient and their institution.
Awards are disbursed as reimbursements for approved activities and related consumable expenses (books, supplies, etc.), but cannot be used for durable equipment (e.g., laptops, microphones). The program is designed for individual applicants and is not intended for group applications unless pre-approved by the program liaison.
