Funding Amounts: Up to $1,400 per applicant every other fiscal year (July 1–June 30); reimbursement basis; covers eligible travel and registration costs.
Summary: Supports library staff from Full Voting member libraries in Northern New York to participate in non-local professional development and share their learning regionally.
Key Information: Activities must be in-person and non-local; remote/virtual events are ineligible (except MLIS coursework).
Description
This program provides financial assistance to library staff from Northern New York Library Network (NNYLN) Full Voting member libraries for professional development activities that take place outside their local area. Eligible activities include presenting at conferences, serving on non-local professional committees, or pursuing graduate coursework in library and information science. The goal is to help staff expand their professional experience and bring new knowledge back to the North Country library community through required information-sharing activities. The grant is intended for opportunities that are not available locally and for which institutional funding may be insufficient.
