Applied Microbiology International (AMI) offers the Professional Development Support Grant to help applied microbiologists acquire new knowledge, learn innovative techniques, and develop laboratory skills. Supported activities include workshops, training courses, and other developmental opportunities that enable scientists to keep pace with current research trends and apply new learning in their work.
The programme focuses on training and professional development rather than conference attendance. It considers how an activity will benefit the applicant’s career in applied microbiology and, where relevant, their organisation. AMI particularly encourages applications from members in industry and clinical roles who are continuing to build their expertise while working.
