Description
The Professional Fellows Program (PFP) is an international exchange initiative administered by American Councils for International Education and funded by the U.S. Department of State. It connects mid-level emerging leaders from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Estonia, Georgia, Latvia, Lithuania, Moldova, Türkiye, and Ukraine with U.S. organizations for a 5–6 week professional development experience. Fellows are placed in non-profit organizations, private businesses, or government offices for individually tailored placements, gaining hands-on exposure to U.S. governance, innovation, and professional practices.
The program fosters leadership growth, cross-cultural understanding, and lasting professional networks. It also features a reciprocal component, allowing American hosts to visit fellows’ home countries for further collaboration. Thematic tracks include Governance and Society (most countries) and Innovation and Entrepreneurship (Belarus).
